City of Hobart Survey 2023

A note on the question about
Condell Place:

NHCA committee members who had started the survey found the question about Condell Place hard to understand. It seemed to lump together all possible uses as a single idea:

How important is the below idea to you? Please rate the below idea, where 5 is the most important, and 1 is the least important.

"The Condell Place car park site can accommodate other uses, such as housing on upper levels, and public open spaces, as well as car parking."

We asked Council to clarify how responses would be interpreted. Please consider their advice when you do the survey (our bold type for your attention):

The key part of the question that we are seeking feedback on, is whether other uses should be considered and further explored for the Condell Place Car Park. “The Condell Place car park site can accommodate other uses.”

The first part of this question is aimed at establishing whether new opportunities should be considered for the site. That is uses other than just car parking.

The open field question, which asks you “What can you suggest that would improve the idea about Condell Place?” gives you the chance to provide more detail on the Opportunity presented, this will be a key component of the survey analysis. If you state which ideas that you do like and which you do not, then we will be able to reflect this in our reporting accurately. Eg. You may state that the idea for Condell Place could be improved by focusing on public open space only, or that you do not think that it should be considered for housing.

For more information about NHCA concerns regarding Condell Place, please see our archived newsletter from Feb 2021. Also: a reminder to consider our collective vision for North Hobart when answering the survey. Thank you!
